Buying is the easy part

Four things we do besides selling from stock. All of them come back to the same habit: open the watch, write down what is actually there, and show you the photographs before you commit.

What we do

Four services

You name the reference; we find it.

Sourcing

Give us a reference, a dial variant and a ceiling. We work collectors, estates and dealers we have known for years, most of whom never list publicly. You see photographs and a condition report before any money moves, and you are free to pass.

  • No fee until you accept a watch
  • Typical search: 2–4 weeks
  • Specific dial variants: a season or more
  • Written condition report on every candidate

Sell for what it is worth, not what is convenient.

Consignment

We photograph, describe and market your watch, and you keep title until it sells. For pieces where speed matters more than the last few percent, we will quote an outright purchase the same day instead.

  • Commission from 8% on a sales price
  • Outright offers settled by wire within 24 hours
  • Insured storage while listed
  • You set the reserve, in writing

Opened, measured, timed, photographed.

Authentication

An independent inspection for a watch you own or are about to buy elsewhere. Case off, movement and serials photographed, rate measured in six positions, case dimensions taken against factory specification to detect polishing.

  • Six-position rate and amplitude on a Witschi
  • Case and lug measurement against factory spec
  • High-resolution dial and movement photography
  • Written report, yours to share

Move up without two transactions.

Trade-in

Put a watch you already own against something in the cabinet. We value yours on the same basis we price our own stock, show you both numbers side by side, and you settle the difference.

  • Valuation on the same published basis
  • Both figures shown, never a single net number
  • Multi-watch trades welcome
  • Difference settled by wire or escrow

Fees, plainly

What this costs

Sourcing carries no fee until you accept a watch. Consignment commission starts at 8% of the realised price and falls on higher-value pieces; the rate is agreed in writing before we list. An independent authentication is $450 for a watch you own, and is credited back in full if you then buy from us.

We do not charge for valuations, we do not take payment to put a watch on a waiting list, and we will tell you when the sensible answer is to buy from an authorised dealer at retail instead.
